Mathematics has a broad cultural background. One of the needs of every mathematician is to be familiar with this culture.
Shafahi Magazine is an activity founded by a group of professors and students from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences at Sharif University of Technology, and its main goal is to increase the general knowledge of individuals in various fields of mathematics.
The main audience of Shafahi Magazine is graduate students.
Another goal of Shafahi Magazine is to expand scientific communication and collaboration, especially between different disciplines within the faculty, and to foster a sense of community through the participation of professors and students.

Facilities
Library
The Central Library of Sharif University of Technology supports its mission, which includes providing information resources in all forms, teaching information literacy, maintaining close contact with information users, consulting and guiding in the research process, disseminating information, and facilitating access to information inside and outside the university. It offers services and resources including more than 30,000 Persian book titles, more than 97,000 Latin-language titles, more than 20,000 thesis titles, and access to 45 databases, in a six-story building located on the northern side of the university, divided into the following sections:
- Ground floor: Information and document supply section, theses and reading rooms
- First floor: Loan section 1, including basic science and technical and engineering books (QD–Z categories)
- Second floor: Loan section 2, including humanities and basic science books (A–QC categories) and reference section
- Third floor: Publications, audiovisual section, and assembly hall
- Fourth floor: Library management, orders, resource organization, and financial affairs sections
Currently, three libraries—Maryam Mirzakhani Library (jointly serving the Faculties of Mathematical Sciences and Industrial Engineering), Physics Library, and the Center for the Philosophy of Science—are active under the supervision of this complex.
Maryam Mirzakhani Library
Located on the first floor of the Dept. of Mathematical Sciences, the library offers a collection of more than 1,300 Persian titles and more than 14,100 Latin titles, with a reading room that can accommodate 50 male and 30 female students.
Computer Site
This Site, with a capacity of more than 30 people, is equipped with six computers (for students who do not have their own laptops), a networked laser printer, a scanner, and wireless network access, ready to serve the faculty’s students.

Educational videos
The filming program of classes has long been organized and sustained at Dept. of Mathematical Sciences of Sharif University of Technology, with the support and collaboration of the faculty, some professors, and interested students. As a result of this activity, a substantial amount of valuable scientific content in mathematics has now been prepared, allowing students from other universities and other mathematics enthusiasts to access this valuable content. The OCW site at ocw.sharif.ir not only enables video sharing but also allows other course materials such as slides, handouts, exercises, etc. to be posted on the site.
